Well, who doesn’t love pancakes….Oh yes we all do…
There are a lot of things you can do with and add to your pancakes, the list is endless.
Today I am bringing you my Mama’s Chocolate chip Pancake recipe, this is to die for if I might add… plus it is totally easy to prepare.

Okay lets get to it Already…
WHAT YOU WILL BE NEEDING (INGREDIENTS).
- 1 cup All purpose Flour.
- 1 tea spoon Baking Powder.
- 1 whole Egg.
- 1 cup of Milk. ( optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chip.
- A Pinch of Salt.
- Nutmeg. (optional)
- Vegetable/Olive oil.
- 1cup Warm water.
Sift and Pour your Flour into a clean bowl, add Nutmeg, pinch of Salt, baking powder, Nutmeg into the flour and mix well with your hands preferably. ( set this aside)
Break the Egg into another clean separate bowl. (make sure the egg is not cold from the fridge)
Now add sugar and milk into the Egg and whisk for a good mix.
Gradually pour the Egg mix into your Flour Mix and stir as you go along. continue to stir the mix until the lumps are melted and the batter is smooth and you have a thoroughly combined mixture.
Now add your chocolate chips into the smooth pancake Batter and stir well.
Now to Cook the pancake Batter…
Drizzle your oil (1/2 a table spoon) into a pan ( a non -stick pan prefarably).
Allow the oil to heat up in the pan and the pour out the already hot oil into a little bowl or container ( you are still going to need this oil).
Now place the pan back on the stove and turn the heat down so we don’t burn our pancakes.
Now pour your batter into your pan to fry. ( use a Ladle spoon for equal measurement and desired shape and size)
Then flip the pancakes when the bottom turns brown, then remove when both flip sides are browned.
Repeat the entire process until you are done with the entire Batter.
Now to Serve
You can serve your pancakes with some ice-cream over it , some fresh fruits on top or you can also drizzle some melted chocolate or honey over it.
You could enjoy your pancakes for breakfast or dinner or even desert.

First, combine dry ingredients thoroughly, breaking up lumps either by sifting them together or by stirring them well with a whisk.
Mix dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls, then gradually add wet ingredients to the dry while mixing with a fork or whisk.
Do NOT overmix your pancake batter, as it can make your pancakes rubbery.
Use a nonstick frying pan, lightly greased with a little oil or butter.
Make sure your pan is hot. Test it by sprinkling in a few drops of water – if they sizzle then it’s ready.
When the pancake edges turn golden brown and come away from the pan, it’s ready to flip.
Shake the pan to loosen the pancake, then flip it in one swift movement.
stack cooked pancakes between greaseproof paper to keep them warm. that way you can serve more people at once.
Finally you could alternatively use Gluten free flour and baking powder if you so desire.
