I have an interesting Recipe for you all today, and it is called “GIZDODO”.
Gizdodo is a unique dish synonymous with Nigerians.
This dish is simply a mix of plantain and gizzards (preferably chicken )with the best garnishing.
It is also known as Gizzards and dodo but i guess that name did not stick hence the Gizdodo ..lol!!.

WHAT YOU WILL BE NEEDING (INGREDIENTS)
- chicken gizzards.
- ripe plantain.
- Fresh tomatoes.
- Habenero pepper (Atarado).
- Red bell pepper (Tatashe).
- Green pepper.
- Garlic clove/garlic powder (optional).
- Curry, thyme and seasoning stock.
- Salt to taste.
- Vegetable oil.
Boil your gizzard using the chicken broth and your preferred seasoning.
Chop your plantain into cubes and then fry and set aside.
Slice Habanero and Red bell pepper and set aside.
Heat vegetable oil on the stove, add chopped onions and sliced vegetables.
Add Salt, curry , thyme,salt, garlic and seasoning.
Now add gizzard to the sauce and allow the spices to blend in with the gizzard for a minute.
Add your fried plantain sliced green pepper, tomatoes and onions. mix thoroughly and remove the heat.
Now that’s how you make GIZDODO.. go on and try it out Food Lovers and remember to share ….

- I always add Cameroon pepper to my dish , just enough to bring the spices alive. (This is totally up to you)
- You could also use Turkey or whatever gizzards you prefer but chicken gizzards just does it right.
